- Change the type of food: Try pet food of different brands, flavors or textures, but be careful to transition gradually to avoid sudden changes that cause gastrointestinal discomfort. You can first mix the new food with the old food, gradually increase the proportion of the new food, and observe the pet's acceptance.
- Increase the amount of exercise: Appropriately increase the amount of exercise for the pet to promote its digestion and metabolism, so that the pet has a better appetite. For example, take the dog for a walk for 30 minutes to 1 hour every day, or play with the cat for 15-20 minutes.
Reasonable diet: Ensure that your pet consumes balanced nutrition, especially foods rich in protein, vitamins and minerals. You can choose high-quality pet food, or add some nutritious complementary foods, such as cooked chicken, fish, egg yolk, vegetables, etc.
- Regularly comb your pet's hair: Use a comb suitable for pets to regularly comb your pet's hair to remove loose hair and dead hair. For example, long-haired pets should be combed at least once a day; short-haired pets can be combed 2-3 times a week. When combing, follow the direction of hair growth, starting from the head, and comb the body, limbs and tail in turn.
- Maintain environmental hygiene: Regularly clean the pet's living environment, including pet nests, toys, sofas, etc., to reduce the accumulation of hair in the environment. You can use tools such as vacuum cleaners and hair removers for cleaning, and also pay attention to keeping the room well ventilated.
- Proper bathing: According to the pet breed and skin condition, arrange the bathing frequency reasonably. Generally speaking, dogs are bathed 1-2 times a month, and cats are bathed once every 2-3 months. Use pet-specific bathing products to avoid excessive cleaning that causes dry skin and increases hair loss.
Oral hygiene: Brush your pet's teeth regularly, using a pet-specific toothbrush and toothpaste. Brush your pet's teeth at least 2-3 times a week. When brushing your teeth, pay attention to the correct method, starting from the outside of the teeth, brushing the inside and the occlusal surface in turn. You can also use oral cleaning spray, mouthwash or chew toys for your pet to help clean the mouth and reduce bad breath.
- Adjust diet: Avoid feeding your pet too much soft food and sweets, which are easy to remain in the mouth, breed bacteria and produce bad breath. You can appropriately increase the proportion of dry food for your pet, or provide your pet with some food that helps oral health, such as carrots, apples, etc.
- Regular oral examinations: Take your pet to the pet hospital for oral examinations regularly to detect and treat oral diseases such as caries and periodontitis in a timely manner. If your pet has serious oral problems, professional treatment such as teeth cleaning may be required.
- Vitamin supplements: Some pets' bad breath may be caused by vitamin deficiency. You can supplement your pet with appropriate amounts of vitamins, such as vitamin C and vitamin B, under the guidance of a veterinarian, to help improve oral health and reduce bad breath.
- Control diet: Adjust the pet's diet structure, reduce the intake of high-calorie, high-fat foods, and increase the content of dietary fiber. You can choose low-fat, high-fiber pet food, or reduce the amount of feeding appropriately. At the same time, be careful to avoid overfeeding snacks and human food.
- Increase exercise: According to the pet's breed and physical condition, formulate a reasonable exercise plan to increase the pet's exercise. For example, take the dog for a walk, run, play, etc. every day, each time for no less than 30 minutes; for cats, you can use toys such as cat teasers to guide them to exercise.
- Weigh regularly: Weigh your pet regularly, monitor weight changes, and adjust diet and exercise plans in time. Generally speaking, weigh your pet at least once a week, record weight data, and observe weight trends.
- Consult a veterinarian: If the pet's obesity problem is more serious, or accompanied by other health problems, you should consult a veterinarian in time to develop a personalized weight loss plan. The veterinarian may recommend some suitable weight loss foods or drugs based on the specific situation of the pet, and give professional guidance and advice.
定期驱虫:根据宠物的年龄、体重、居住环境等情况,定期为宠物进行内外环境驱虫。外部驱虫一般每月一次,内部驱虫则根据用药情况和宠物情况,每3-6个月一次。选择合适的驱虫药物,严格按照说明使用。
- 检查过敏原:观察宠物在接触某些食物和环境因素(如花粉、尘螨等)后,瘙痒症状是否加重。如怀疑过敏,可逐步检查过敏原,尽量避免与宠物接触。对于食物过敏,可更换低过敏性的宠物食品;对于环境过敏,可保持家居清洁,使用空气净化器。
- 皮肤护理:保持宠物皮肤清洁干燥,定期给它洗澡,但不宜过于频繁,避免破坏皮肤的油脂平衡。使用温和的宠物专用洗浴产品,洗完后及时吹干毛发。如果皮肤瘙痒严重,可以在兽医指导下使用宠物专用的止痒药物或皮肤护理剂。
- 及时就医:如果宠物皮肤瘙痒症状持续或者加重,出现皮肤破损或者感染等情况,应及时带宠物到兽医院进行皮肤检查及诊断,确定病因后进行针对性的治疗。
